About David Cemmick

A passion for wild places and creatures which inhabit them has driven David`s creativity and inspiration for the past thirty five years. Drawing animals `en plein air` in Kenya, Madagascar, India an New Zealand has informed his wildlife image making and bronze sculpture. Brought up in the North East of England, David trained in animal anatomy before becoming a freelance artist in 1975. Television appearances and conservation work with Prof. David Bellamy moulded his early career. For four years he held the post of Senior Lecturer in Environmental Illustration at the University of Sunderland, before returning to his freelance career to pursue his passion for sculpture. In 2005, he joined forces with master mould maker Sebastian Wylder to form Cemmick and Wylder, a company dedicated to producing David`s sculptures into foundry bronze limited editions.
